Lorena Baeza (Ponferrada, 1989) is a journalist. She lives in Madrid, where she graduated and began her professional career after winning the first Nipho Journalism Award from Antonio de Nebrija University (2010). She has been involved in television for over a decade, where she has covered major current events and presented live. Committed to women's rights, she is also the author of reports on feminism and social issues. "El día nunca retrocede" (The Day Never Backs Down ) is her debut novel.

Malaika has decided to flee and reclaim the life that has been stolen from her for years. Her decision involves embarking on a journey from the East African coast and setting up a secret plan.
Her ally, a Spanish journalist with whom she forges a very special relationship, will help her take her first steps. But after a failed escape, an assault, and a kidnapping, Malaika will have to fight alone to leave the Kenyan island where she is trapped and risk everything to reach her destination: Spain.
